Cinema/Chicago presents the 9th annual International Summer Screenings Program. The 2012 film series runs through September 29, 2012, and showcases 22 films from around the world. The film series represents an array of genres from comedies and thrillers to emotionally charged dramas and enlightening documentaries, celebrating the richness and diversity of the human experience.
The Film Festival enriches Chicago’s cultural environment by presenting film in contexts that encourage discussion and debate. The selected films introduce the community to new filmmakers, new stories and new points of view. The festival promotes a deeper understanding of world cultures, contributing to Chicago’s identity as an international city.
Films are screened every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and many have encore screenings on the following Saturday at 2 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes before start time. Admission is free and open to the public.
